Jean-Yves Thibaudet makes no bones about his love for the movies and, quite uncharacteristically of classical musicians even in modern times, about his respect for composers of movie music. And he puts his virtuosic fingers where his mouth is - his piano-playing is heard in several Hollywood films, most recently in the Oscar-nominated movie "Pride and Prejudice" in which the highly nuanced Thibaudet sound is almost omnipresent.

In 2006, Decca with which he is an exclusive recording artist, released "The Movie Album," a compilation of themes from some of the favorite movies of all time as interpreted by Thibaudet. These are culled from his various studio recordings and acclaimed stage performances.
