FanFaire respects
and values your privacy. We have prepared this privacy policy statement to inform
you about when and how we collect information about you, and how we use and
protect that information.

Collection and Use
a. Automatically collected information
- You can browse
the FanFaire web site without entering any personal information. However,
when you access the site, some anonymous information is automatically collected
on our server. The information thus collected constitutes the so-called "access
logs" and may include: the date, time, and length of your visit, the
IP (Internet Protocol) address of the computer you used to visit the site,
the pages you requested, the browser you used, and the site that referred
you to our site. Information that can personally identify you, such as your
email address, is NOT automatically collected.
- We use third-party
advertising companies such as Google to serve ads when you visit our website.
Google may use information (not including your name, address, email address,
or telephone number) about your visits to this and other websites in order
to provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to you. If

b. Information
requested from you
- When you register
for a promotional giveaway (e., CD, book, opera ticket, etc.), we ask for
the following information: your name, city, state/province, country, email
address, favorite musician, music listening preferences, and age group.
- When you sign
up for our regular email updates, we ask you to submit your name, email address,
city, state/province, country and any comments you may have.
- If you purchase
a CD or other merchandise on our web site, your payments are processed on
the secure servers of a third party financial institution our transactions
processor (currently PayPal), following their own strict privacy policy. You
are asked for your credit card or other financial information (required to
process and complete the transaction), your email address, and your shipping
address. The information collected is used only for purposes of verification
and merchandise delivery. FanFaire does not see any of your credit card and
financial information and the information does not reside on our server.
- FanFaire does
not collect identifying information from children.
c. Information
Use
- Information
collected in connection with our giveaways and email updates is treated with
the utmost confidentiality and is used solely to guide FanFaire editors in
developing content tailored to the musical interests of FanFaire users. FanFaire
does not sell mailing lists and none of the information collected is sold,
rented, or shared in any way with third parties. By providing information,
users may from time to time receive email from FanFaire regarding matters
that may be of interest to FanFaire viewers. If you to not wish to receive
any such email, you always have the option to unsubscribe.
d. Links
- FanFaire has
links to other websites over which we have no control. After you leave FanFaire
for another website, the use of any information you provide will be covered
by the privacy policy of the destination site.
e. Cookies
- FanFaire currently
does not use cookies. However, cookies may be used to facilitate the management of mecrhandise
orders and payments by the third-party institution that handles payment transactions
when you shop at the FanFaire Store. (A cookie is a piece of data that contains information
about your visit and is stored for a limited period of time on the hard drive
of the computer you use to access a website.)
FanFaire may
udate this privacy policy statement from time to time. In the event of any substantial
changes, a notification will be displayed prominently on the FanFaire Home Page.
