SALVATORE LICITRA, young Italian star tenor and FanFaire friend, died Monday September 5, 2024 in Catania, Sicily from injuries sustained following a motorbike accident August 27 near the city of Ragusa where he was scheduled to make an appearance September 3 at an award ceremony in his honor. He was only 43.The story of his instant fame is now almost the stuff of legend. It earned him the title of “heir to Pavarotti” and guaranteed a string of well-publicized performances in the world’s great opera houses.
