VIRTUOSO VIOLINIST MIDORI RETURNS TO WALT DISNEY CONCERT HALL WITH PIANIST ROBERT McDONALD IN LOS ANGELES PHILHARMONIC’S 2010/11 COLBURN CELEBRITY SERIES RECITAL

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 21, 2010, AT 7:30 PM

Legendary violinist Midori together with her long-time colleague Robert McDonald perform at Walt Disney Concert Hall, Sunday, November 21, at 7:30 p.m., in a recital featuring music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Béla Bartók, Johann Sebastian Bach, George Crumb and Karol Szymanowski. The performance is part of the Los Angeles Philharmonic’s 2010/11 Colburn Celebrity series, which features some of the world’s leading virtuosos.

Midori is recognized not only for the evolution and scope of her 28-year career as one of the most dazzlingly gifted performers before the public, but increasingly for the prescient and innovative community engagement initiatives to which she devotes a substantial amount of her energies and resources worldwide on an ongoing basis.

Robert McDonald, with whom Midori has performed and recorded for nearly two decades, has performed throughout the United States, Europe, Latin America and the Far East. His discography includes recordings for Sony Classical, Vox, Bridge, Musical Heritage Society, ASV and CRI.
