March 2010 Cover Story
THIBAUDET and his “GLORIOUS GERSHWIN”
In its March 2010 cover story, BBC Music calls Jean-Yves’ newest CD release “GLORIOUS GERSHWIN!” - in effect anointing the celebrated French pianist as today’s foremost interpreter of America’s most famous composer AND affirming what FanFaire has always maintained of this most adventurous of classical artists. [See Rhapsody at the Bowl]
The Gershwin CD was released in the US on April 27, a few days after his LA Philharmonic concert with today’s SUPERCONDUCTOR and LA Phil Music Director Gustavo Dudamel. In May, they embark on a US tour, bringing Bernstein’s Age of Anxiety to San Francisco, Nashville, Washington, New York and Newark (NJ).
