This CD contains transcriptions, some by Thibaudet himself, of some of the most melodious and best loved arias in the operatic repertoire, including Puccini’s “Vissi d’arte” from Tosca and “O mio babbino caro” from Gianni Schicchi, the sparkling “Jewel Song” from Gounod`s Faust, and the heart-wrenching arias from Saint-Saens’ Samson et Dalila. Thibaudet rounds off the disc with Wagner’s spirited “Ride of the Valkyries.”
