genre - the quartet members play with mastery, and with unmistakable
joy and devotion to their music. Play the first track and you'll soon
realize that chamber music, while "serious," is far from

(Russian, 1865-1936) invites you to sway with his music or even dance
to it.

...and be taken backward in time, first to Smetana
(Czech, 1824-84) and a rhapsodic movement from the most autobiographic
of his three chamber works, before being introduced to the classic
sounds of Beethoven
(a lively allegro) and Mozart
(a sweet andante) - excerpts from their innumerable chamber pieces.
Then, be propelled back to the 20th century and be seduced by Piazzolla's
(Argentine, 1921-92) sophisticated tango ballet - tango cliché?
