The career of the young mezzo, Vivica Genaux, has gained momentum since her Met debut last December. After garnering rave reviews on her recital and opera concert performances at the Caramoor Festival , she went on to debut in Perth, Australia and Seville, Spain. She has just sang Hassem in Seville, a pants role in Donizetti's long lost opera, Alahor in Granata, which was last performed in 1826. A live recording of the opera is planned for release in 1999. Ms. Genaux proceeds to Dallas Opera to perform her first Handel role in Ariodante which opens November 20. She was featured in FanFaire's Issue #2. Her new web pages appear in FanFaire's First Anniversary Issue, which has just been posted.
