Richard Leech enjoys
a warm relationship with Cincinnati audiences. It is not surprising therefore
that the Cincinnati Opera has become his midwestern "artistic home".
He has performed here since his debut in 1987 in Offenbach's Les
contes d'Hoffmann. The company welcomes
his role debuts here as it did when he sang his first ever Riccardo in
Verdi's Un ballo in maschera and
his first Cavaradossi in Puccini's Tosca.
At the company's 75th Anniversary celebration
in 1995, Richard Leech, accompanied by piano, performed "An Evening
with Richard Leech in Tribute to Mario Lanza", a programme which
he sang to orchestral accompaniment in Chicago's Grant Park Festival in
June, 1998. Below is a summary of Richard Leech's seasons with the Cincinnati
Opera. |
