An ECHO AWARD for "PYROTECHNICS" CD: Vivica's virtuosic Vivaldi solo CD on the Virgin Classics label has been awarded the ECHO PRIZE for "Opera Recording: Opera Arias," the second of her recordings to receive the award.  The first was for the opera Bajazet, also by Vivaldi.

Immediately after her concert performance at the Caramoor Festival (see below), she made a greatly anticipated debut at the esteemed BBC Proms, singing two of Rossini’s most beloved mezzo arias, “Mura felici” from La donna del lago and “Nacqui all’affanno”…”Non più mesta” from La Cenerentola, with Maestro Gianandrea Noseda leading the BBC Philharmonic.  Read the first reviews...

In advance of the Prom, she was heard on BBC Radio 3's In Tune program on Tuesday, August 4, for a live interview/performance with host Petroc Trelawny. And following her performance She was interviewed by Zeb Soanes during the Interval.

RETURN TO CARAMOOR
Vivica returned to the Caramoor Festival on July 31st for her ninth appearance at one of the most charming summer venues in the US. She sang Arsace in Semiramide, the last and grandest opera Rossini composed for his native Italy. This concert performance, conducted by Caramoor’s Director of Opera and one of Vivica’s long-time mentors, Will Crutchfield, included the dramatic death scene, added by the composer for Paris, which was reconstructed expressly for that evening by noted Rossini scholar Philip Gossett.
